This is the 2nd round and I find myself brought out from Swish Jeans party on Friday to  Nemi lake on Saturday. Two completely opposite locations and people in Rome.

Even if this party wasn’t the best of my life I’m happy cos’ I met Claudio a very nice guy. And other cool friends.

Next 10th Thursday May the BASS COMUNICACIÓN agency introduces for the “Open Day Milan” event, the new main collections of its Brands. Matilde Cano with her high Pret-a-porter, Gioseppo shows the new color and funny shoes collections, Petusco as far as the class accessory and Grimaldi sea represented summer’s fashion.

The Open Day will be in the new Showroom of BASS & Human Touch in Pietro Custodi, 6 street.
Bass will be please, as in the other occasions,  to receive designers and journalists who have interest for  proposed new  07-08.

All accompanying from a catering of quality for a day in which the fashion will be protagonist.

Micha Weinblatt of Crooked Monkey, kindly answered to our interview :) 

Hi Micha how are you? Can u tell Style People how Crooked Monkey started?

It really started during a trip to Thailand when we visited a monkey magic show.  Watching the monkeys perform magic tricks—like pulling a rabbit out of a hat and lifting weights—we knew that our new line had to incorporate the jovial innocence of affable monkeys.  Our line was going to blend style and humor in an unassuming way to allow college students to truly express themselves—blending comfort, style, and wit.
Over the last two years we have grown tremendously and it’s clear that what we’re trying to do resonates with our market.  We’re sold in over 450 stores including Kitson LA, Shopintuition, Urban Outfitters and Lord and Taylor.  It’s been quite a ride.

Who was the first customer?

We launched on May 5, 2005 at the Cornerstone Bar and Grill at the University of Maryland.  The party was a huge success and we practically sold out of our first batch of shirts.  We knew we had something special and that we were going to take it to the next level so we spent that summer building the brand.

What does inspire Crooked Monkey collections?

Crooked Monkey is all about original humor and style.  Our greatest inspiration comes from listening to people around us and appreciating the humor in everyday life.

Is it true that Crooked Monkey give $100 for u new shirt ideas about your brand? What if I have 10 ideas? :)

It is true!  We give a $100 gift certificate.  We encourage people to join the Crooked Monkey party and take part in the brand.

How did you learn that also Nicki Hilton swallows (check here)?

Do you know Busted tees? If yes, what do u think about?

I think Busted Tees is very creative and are good at what they do.  At Crooked Monkey we focus more on the college scene and offer a t-shirt for the university student—always staying in-tune with the campus culture and providing a fashion outlet for them.  Our unique perspective has been the driving force behind our tremendous growth and our widespread appeal—we are carried everywhere from college towns to trendy LA & NYC boutiques.

Some people might think your shirt are outrageous, are you looking for this kind of reaction or is it just about fun?

Crooked Monkey is all about glorifying the college years and if that’s outrageous then I’ve done my job!  We like to push the envelope of what’s accepted, but we always make sure that our humor remains pertinent to the college student.

Can you give a small hint to people who would like to start their own Fashion business?

I’d say, just get started as soon as you can.  If we had waited until our first line was perfect, or if we had waited until our marketing campaign was fully funded, or if we had waited until our inventory was fully stocked, we would never have gotten anywhere.  If you have a dream, you must pursue it.  I can tell you from experience that it is much more rewarding to work for something you love then for a company you don’t care about.

The Zero group (Marco De Barba - Nicola Mancon) started back in 1990 in the corridors of the Academy of Fine Arts, in Bologna, crossing multiple experiences of creativity,such as the one of The Santa Croce Gallery, in Pratello area, tied to the Link Project. Whitin this context, they developed varied artistic activities of performances, happening, music and video. Starting from 2003 they undertook the CACCADURA project, of which the Fucktory is the greatest expression, an attempt of widening and spreading their philosophy of art and style,

Apple just announced the coming of this new wonderful accessory. It will be out for June and it features a touch screen pad like my MDA Vario. But the difference is obviously the amazing design and the stylish software in it.
