Who are you?
A crazy, ambitious Russian girl living in fog city and working hard to bring her dreams to life.
When did your passion for fashion start?
Simply from my mum’s wardrobe and a feeling that I need to be different from others.
What does fashion mean for you?
I don’t have a fixed concept of fashion in my mind. I wake up every day with an exact feeling of what I want to wear, what I want to eat and so on. I’m a moody fashionista.
When did you move in London?
2 ½ years ago. I hate London but at the same time I couldn’t see myself in other city. In London, you win or you lose, there is nothing in the middle. It is a city with lots of possibilities, especially for creative people. You just need to see all of them.
What does London mean for you?
A brain explosion. So many creative people, almost mental, because it’s just impossible to be that talented and be normal. Colors and fashion everywhere, that’s what I like most here. You can be naked on the street and people won’t say anything to you, maybe that’s just the mood you’re in today. Amazing!
Why do people miss London when they’re not here?
The rhythm of life, probably? You need to be very strong mentally to live here. Also the feeling of freedom, which is the most important thing in today’s society. People don’t know who are they, how to express themselves and what they want in real life. There is too much marketing influence around. You must buy Ferrari, Gucci and all of this shit, because otherwise you’ll be left out of the crew! Bullshit!
What are the differences between worldwide fashion thinking and fashion in London?
There are two types of fashion: London and something in the middle. Maybe it sounds very snobby but you can feel fashion through your skin here, I’ve never felt the same even in New York. To be honest if you’re living in London, you don’t need to look at fashion websites to figure out what is going to be trendy. Most of the trends are created on the streets of London and then spread all over the world. All that you need to do is go onto the streets and pay attention what people are wearing.
